Postwoman/doer of mental goodness
As we received 12+ inches of snow yesterday in the gateway area my winter depression had once again returned. But today as a glimmer of hope the postwoman unknowingly revived my well being.
The Born Free 5 tickets had finally arrived along with a Lowbrow grab bag of goodness. The additional swag received was unexpected, but welcomed on this drag of a day. Now just waiting to hear news on the blogs who won the crisp Harpoon tins.
As for anyone on the fence about ordering a BF5 ticket even if your not planning to attend the event poster and ticket will make one nice keepsake and helping the promoters keep the event going so you can attend next year is a must. If you plan to attend and haven't planned to buy a ticket you might not be able to read this here post cause you must be an fucking idiot!!! Free beer for the day, a chance to win 1 of 18 works of art, and supporting a cause to keep our hobby alive.

River City Riot 3 Aug 24th 2013 / Cycle Showcase Aug 25th
River City Riot is on and many updates will be coming , to keep up to date click here or follow the blog http://rivercityriot.blogspot.com/
We had 40 bikes last year and it was a great time . We will run the same format . I will publish the new route soon but I would say around a 150 mile ride with bar stops and tons of giveaways . We will have reserved parking in front of the Pin Up Bowl on Delmar (start/finish) Shit is going to be dope
some pics from last year
Its going to be a hell of a weekend in STL as we team up with DeRake Randy . River City Riot will be on Saturday and on Sunday you will have tons of motorcycle goodness with The Cycle Showcase . Its my understanding the plan is to have the Wall of Death , featured builders bikes on display, and a motorcycle art show.

Its trying to be spring
here in the state of misery. Picked up the springer today sporting a front brake and new paint. Filthy as hell from dragging it out last week in the rain, but after a short ride on or fake out spring (chance of snow sun) weather i am happy to report it stops.
Im not sold on the paint, but its growing on me. Needs some stripes to outline the flames, its a base clear job and the clear was knocked flat with 2000 and a gold scotch brite.
Got to square away the sissy bar for momma, move the plate mount to the axel so it can be seen when I'm runnin bags, and I'm going to attempt at making my own air clearer cover.
But otherwise ready for some serious miles this season. The kiddo wanted a ride as soon as i pulled up, what momma don't know.........

Apocalypse bumper update
Got half the spacers done for the bumper tonight, picked up a XD9000i warn winch on the list that needs a motor. Shaft is bent on the motor, i may see if i can get it sorted, if not a new ones $80 which made this thing one hell of a deal.
Seem to be eating through bits on the lathe, checked out some youtube vids on how to sharpen them, but no luck. Im open to suggestions is anyone has any for a newb. I will hit the old man up tomorrow as he has spent some time as a machinist.
Damn thing sure isn't new anymore, its a job in itself just to clean her up.
Parked the 03' at an ol'timers workshop on the hwy as the fleabay and list don't look so promising.
Towing my 79' from storage tomorrow as its time to show her some love while waiting on the springer paint. Then some wood cutting and wheeling in the mud on the quad with my bro.
I thRow some pics of the 79' on soon.

Sproter action
Putting a shout out for a Flyrite sproter set-up. It seems they have no plans to make another run and the 50's look of the caliper is what I'm after, if you've got one lying around let me know!
Spring is near
And it seems everyone is putting the finishing touches on their winter projects. I dropped my tins off yesterday, heres to laying down some miles real soon.

Just another new guy...
Well, not too sure where to start other then to just start... Name's Mike, I've been around for a min, mostly just hanging out. Finally built me a chop with the help of a few rad dudes including our very own Justin; who actually has my bike now with the engine tore down. Hopefully this year I'll actually be able to make it to a lot more shit and get to really meet the dudes I've chatted with online and followed on these blogs. I'd like to thank Snelvis for inviting me to join this blog and I hope I'm not too much of a disappointment.. Btw, here's a pic of my chop.
Bacon Bash
Cool event my friend Bacon is getting together. I am going to try and make it out to Texas if possible.

Cage post
So i picked up this 69' f-250 crew 4x4 true hiboy a few months ago to make my daily. Replacing a perfectly fine, paid for 03' f-150 4x2 crew......makes perfect sense right, the wife sure thought so.
The night i brought the big girl home i smacked a 4pointer and trashed the bumper and grille. I was able to bend the valance and grille(nearly impossible to find) back into shape but the bumper was toast.
So now it's time to build her a proper apocalypse bumper. Found a 3" tube bumper on the list for another model, chopped the mounts and need 3" to make it work(thats what she said). So i ordered in some 3"od 1/4 wall tube to cut in 5" bits. I will turn down 1" on each end with my new smithy 3 in 1 to fit inside the 3/32 wall tube thats there.
While i was at it tonight i adjusted the aftermarket grant wheel, fixed the dome light, and added a calling card the the back glass. Not a bad night. Off the Vegas in the morn for work.

Ohio
Isn't a bad place to kill some time. My full time gig requires allot of travel, mostly by air. Every once and awhile a road trip presents itself. This week from BFE MO i drove to cinci. Got the job done on tues and have spent wed/thurs traveling north hitting dealerships. Killing time before the next job in Ft. Wayne.
Most are the usual cookie cutter corporate HD mandated 100ft from major highway 5000sqft Indonesian parts slinging, motorclothes pushing, autozone style parts lookup dead zones. But there are still some cool old family owned original shops that have mega personality, old parts, educated people, and mini museums.
Snapped some phone pics to share, these are from Ben Breece hd of Ottawa and Napoleon hd.
The reason for my stops at these dealerships is to add to my dip dot collection that was started 8yrs ago when I got the job. I have seen well over 200 dealerships around the world and as strong as my hatred of the factory is, the collecting keeps me away from the bar.
